The FCC held public hearing on Localism Thursday in the locale of Portland, Maine. FCC Chairman Kevin Martin couldn't be there in person but had this to say: "Establishing and maintaining a system of local broadcasting that is responsive to the unique interests and needs of individual communities is an extremely important policy goal for the Commission.
