Florida Gov. Rick Scott tore up one of the state's checks for public broadcasting May 26 when he departed from nearly four decades of support and vetoed $4.8 million that lawmakers had included in the state's $69.7 billion budget for 13 television stations and 13 radio stations in 2011-12. What Scott's veto means beyond the loss of $307,447 for each television station and $61,715 for each radio station remains unclear, however.
