FCC Moves Glacially to Fix Broadband Data Shortcomings
Broadband Reports, February 8, 2011

While it's possible the FCC could push hard and require more concrete data from ISPs including price, given recent FCC history -- it seems possible that data collection efforts could be caught in bureaucratic purgatory indefinitely. Even if the FCC is to revamp data collection and request additional criteria from ISPs, there's a chance the FCC wouldn't make this data public anyway -- given that despite plenty of claims about the importance of transparency, the FCC keeps much of the data they already have under lock and key at the carriers' behest.
