NBC affiliates have asked the FCC to condition its grant of the Comcast-NBC merger on the provisions Comcast promised them on the issues of programming and retransmission. But with this merger, local media markets will never be the same. Although NBC affiliates may have gained some ground in the negotiations, it may not be enough to compete with such a media giant as Comcast-NBC.
