Spectrum Bridge has added a new twist to its TV white spaces trials. It's using the unlicensed spectrum in between TV channels to create a smart grid network in Plumas Sierra County, Calif., where the local electrical cooperative is trying to link its electrical substations in some of the most far-spread and difficult terrain in the Sierra Nevadas.
