UPN Loss Opens Door For News Corp

News that Time Warner and CBS plan to merge the WB and UPN networks into a new outlet, called CW, was a surprise to one big media player: News Corp., the owner of some key UPN affiliate stations. In response, News Corp. pulled the on-screen UPN logo from its UPN affiliates yesterday — along with promotions for future UPN programs.
