Granada and Carlton, the ITV broadcasters, are finalising a detailed integration plan pending government approval — expected next week — for their £3.8bn ($6.34bn) merger.



Government advisers on Thursday hinted that the merger would be cleared, almost exactly 12 months after Granada and Carlton announced their marriage proposal.
