On Thursday, Kelly Shaw and David Martin of Pure Internet, Inc. were in Brookneal connecting the town's first customers to wireless broadband Internet access.

Wireless broadband allows users to send and receive large amounts of information in a short time — much faster than with traditional modems, Shaw explained.
