National Day of Protest to Stop the Media Monopoly!

We must resist the FCC¹s capitulation to corporate greed and their arrogant
dismissal of opposing voices. On September 4, dozens of cities will stage
protests outside of media outlets to demand an end to the media monopoly and
roll-back of the new ownership rules. Independent media will also take this
opportunity to educate the public about media justice.

Please organize a September 4 protest at a media outlet in your city. The
protests don¹t have to be big‹even a few people holding up signs in front of
the local TV station would be great. Or take to streets with puppet theater,
dance, art, music and creative flyering. If you're involved with independent
media, please write an article or organize a broadcast for September 4 to
celebrate the alternative media, to educate people about the effects of
media consolidation, and to encourage them to take action for media
diversity. For action tips, resources, and information about nationwide efforts to
reclaim the FCC, visit www.reclaimthefcc.org.
