FCC Public Hearing on Localism
June 28.2007
Portland High School, 284 Cumberland Avenue
Portland, 0
The FCC will hold a public hearing on localism. The purpose of the hearing is to gather information from consumers, industry, civic organizations, and others on broadcasters' service to their local communities. Along with competition and diversity, promoting localism is a key goal of the Commission's media ownership rules.
The hearing format will enable members of the public to participate via an "open microphone" session. Further details will be released as they become available.
Open captioning and sign language interpreters will be provided for this event. Other reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities are available upon request. Please include a description of the accommodation you will need and as much detail as possible. Also, please include your contact information. Make your request as early as possible. Last minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fill. Send an e-mail to fcc504@fcc.gov or call the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau at 202-418-0530 (voice), 202-418-0432 (TTY).
