Truth in Metaphor: Native American Journalists Association Annual Convention
Journalists seek truth and tell it through words and imagery. The more powerful the images, the more truth enlightens its audience. That is the power of metaphor. It is natural for Native journalists to use this tool of language to explain complex issues because Native Americans often speak in metaphor. When used effectively, metaphor can crystallize complexities succinctly, deftly and brilliantly.
