All concerned citizens are invited to join this gathering of Midwest media producers, community groups and activists.
The festival will feature workshops on developing the skills to create, distribute and organize alternative media, as well as ways we can work together to preserve our right to a democratic media, including:
-Studio Master Class with George Stoney
-Community Media and Visual Arts
-Experiences in Organizing Local Grassroots
Media in the Heartland
-Media and Social Action Panel
-Broadcasters, Public Interest, and Accountability
-Indigenous Voices in Mexico and Central America
Plus networking, screenings, and a keynote address from George Stoney, cofounder of the Alternative Media Center in New York City and Paulette Goddard Professor of Film and TV at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
